Here is a nice operating boxcar. This operates via the little metal external tab you see. When it is activated, the door opens, and the man comes to the door.
Interesting: One door is cream colored like the refrigerator car; the other door and the door guides are white like the other variation of this car. The flash makes the car look whiter than it is. You can see the off-white/cream color of the refrigerator car in the pics with the white door.
This is classic postwar Marx--a deluxe car with 4 wheel trucks.
