Framed Texas State Railroad
Here is a very desirable collectible.
This is a limited print by John Winfield, railroad artist. You can see his signature as well as the handwritten number of the item on the print.
It has been nicely framed and matted. The total framed piece is 25" x 20.5".
The scene is a beautiful East Texas morning in the midst of the Piney Woods. Here comes Engine #500 while a few railroad workers chat by the trackside. The switch and the water tower are also in view.
This is a real engine that the Texas State Railroad had aquired. It is a former Santa Fe #1316 4-6-2. I believe it is retired now.
It has been nicely framed and matted.
I have seen a ton of Winfield prints as he is quite prolific, but I have not come across this one, or another possible partner to this one which we have listed right now in our other listings.
Special Note: This is number 107 of 750. We aquired another Winfield piece in this same collection that has the same number on it. I am not sure if the two were sold as a package or if the original buyer simply preferred that number...if you would like to own both pieces, the other one is currently listed in our other auctions. CONDITION: Print is in nice shape behind frame. It was hand numbered and signed by the artist. Frame is nice with a few small scratches. Pictures show it all.
